washing the feet by SCS

1/9

"feet -impulse to move and quality of humility, seen in the act of touching or bathing the feet of a highly evolved being. Words of wisdom and revelation that pass through the threshold (5) from the spirit-mind are considered as the feet of God or the feet of the master."

Shiv Charan Singh
"Let the Numbers Guide You" p. 170

sat nam
to wash the feet of the master
is to take the master's words into your mouth
and to mix those words with your own breath and being

note: there is a correspondence between the joints of the body and the numbers

hips/shoulders = 3/7
knees/elbows = 1/9
ankles/wrists = 4/6
toes/fingers = 2/8

so the hands and feet are also associated with the flow of prana [energy]
and therefore the washing is associated with cleansing the prana
and also a pranic exchange.
there can be a charge or a discharge of energy through the hands and feet.

and water is a conductor
so the connection between hands and feet can help in the transmission of the message of the teacher.
in washing the masters feet
it appears that the master is the receiver
when in fact the student is receiving the teachings in a very particular way

traditionally the disciple would also drink from the water that had just been used to wash the master's feet.

this tradition has been replaced by the emphasis on the word.
that the exchange is now through communication,
that the word is the feet of the master.
that your mouth washes those words by drinking them in.

with love and blessings
